A new look combining wood with fire. Just an idea, but I could not resist the idea of combining burned Douglas Fir wood for a table top with solid oak table legs, which in theory would provide excellent contrast!
As you can see from the photo I put that theory to the test, burning the Douglas Fir wood has significantly highlighted the grain to show it’s real texture with a great range of shades (that’s if you like shades of burned wood!?)
So what now… Leave it as a daft idea or burn the actual table top which has taken 2 days to make. Oh well, pass the matches, fingers crossed, if there are no further blogs from Wood then it’s all gone terribly wrong!!
